Music Week’s monthly Breakout night showcasing live music in London enjoyed an assured start to the year yesterday evening, with more than 400 industry and new music fans crammed into The Barfly, Camden.
The London nights offer up-and-coming talent the chance to play a prestigious slot in front of both industry execs and the public. They are run in conjunction with independent promoter All Night Long.
Co-founder Ben James said: “It worked great for us at Barfly tonight. The Breakout ethos to mix a range of acts on two stages, from brand new buzz acts to headlining touring bands from around the world, was in full effect tonight. A proper gig with fans and industry alike, queuing down the street to get in and where rewarded with great live music
“Milo Greene over from LA for the first time and getting support from Radio 2 and 6Music woo’d the crowd with their sun drenched harmonies, but upstairs was busy for all acts including buzz band Khushi looked after by Radio 1′s Jameela Jamil, who came on straight after the frenzy downstairs for Kimberly Anne.”
Fellow co-founder Gary Prosser said: “Kimberly Anne pulled off a great show to a room packed with industry and label interest while Blaise after playing only two previous gigs performed her third like a pro at a busy Barfly tonight”
Breakout continues its tour of showcasing live music at London venues with their February show at Dingwalls with Moulettes, Robert Vincent, Sam Gray and more TBC
